Rennes rejects Galatasaray offer to buy Gouiri.

Rennes have rejected an offer from Galatasaray for Algerian forward Amine Gouiri.

Galatasaray continue to strengthen their team, with many players in the French Ligue 1 being linked in the past, including PSG defender Milan Shkriniar. 

But recently, Ufabet reported that Galatasaray had made a €15 million offer to Rennes to consider releasing Gouri from the club, but the northwestern French team immediately rejected it.

The report goes on to say that Galatasaray’s offer is in the region of €13m guarantee plus a further €2m in performance-based bonuses, which Rennes believe is too little.

In addition, head coach Jorge Sampaoli did not approve the transfer because the Argentine coach sees Gouri as an important force in his team.

Gouri’s contract runs until 2027 and he can play as a centre-forward or as a left-winger.

Rennes had reportedly let it known their intention not to part with the attacker, before the Turkish club sent an initial offer of €13m plus €2m in bonuses on Wednesday. After being notified of the interest from Galatasaray, Gouiri reportedly informed the leadership at Rennes that he did not wish to proceed with the transfer. 

The attacker has played 16 matches in Ligue 1 so far this season, scoring twice and recording one assist in the process. Tanzi reports that he is highly rate by Rennes boss Jorge Sampaoli, indicating that the likelihood of the move was minimal. Yet, the Turkish giants opte to nonetheless send a bid which was then reject by the Breton club.
